Movies, Books & Tv | Favourites of 2014

Hi, today I'll be showing you my favourite films, books and tv shows throughout 2014! enjoy.

Movies:
The Lucky One - I have to admit, I'm a sucker for sad films! I don't usually cry but sometimes I do! His film is about a guy who was fighting in Afganistan and to get him through it, he had a photo of a girl. Once he got back, he moved away to search for this girl. They found each other and lots of secrets are reavled through the film...

Mean girls - who doesn't love mean girls? If you don't know it's about Cady Heron who moves from Africa and joins The Plastics as a joke/experiment. Soon enough the popularity gets too her head and she thinks she's better than Karen Smith, Gretchen Weiners and the queen bee Regina George.

The Vow - A story of a women falling in love with a guy...obviously but then she and him are involved in an accident. He is injured but she loses her memory of him. He tries his best to bring her back but her parents never liked him with her anyway so they brainwash her (not literally) to thinking that they were never together.

The Notebook - A must see chick flick. A tale of a women and a man who are from two different worlds (poor and wealthy). Over the summer, they fall completely head over heels in love. They argued but that's what made them a couple. The women leaves one day back to her hometown promising she would come back. She doesn't but he writes a letter a day for a whole year to her but her dad hides them from her, so she forgets about him.

21&22 Jump Street - two police officers who are failing in catching the people committing the crimes and are sent back to high school (21) and college (22) to catch the drug dealers suppliers. Hilarious film! Watch it!

Tv shows:
Pretty Little Liars - I'm obsessed with this show! I've watched up to the mid season in season 5 since the summer and I'm hooked! It's so scary and mysterious ahhhh! Who do you think A is? If you don't know the plot, it's about 5 bestfriends who fall apart when Alison goes missing. They then join forces when they start receiving anon text messages from A after Ali's funeral. I love it!

American Horror Story - This is my newest obsession and I'm also up to date on this aswell! The first season is in a murder house where a family moves in and lots of the secrets of the past uncover during the series. A pysco path falls in love with the daughter and his past is reVealed. Turns out, most of them are ghosts! Season 2 takes place in a mental asylum, creepy. Season 3 is a witches coven! And the fourth series is a Freak Show! The show is honestly amazing..

Dance Moms - Reality TV usually bores me but the moms on this crack me up! They are so bitchy and funny! Abby Lee is the worst dance teacher ever, very intimidating but the girls are all amazing dancers!

Books:
Girl Online - the first novel by Zoe Sugg, aka Zoella left me wanting more. It hooked me and I just want the second one to come out aready! Penny is an average girl who has a popular blog and calls herself Girl Online. It is her secret. But once she goes to New York and falls in love with Noah, his secret could reveal her secret aswell..

13 Reasons Why - A girl commits suicide one day but before doing so, records 13 tapes of the reasons why she killed herself. Each of these are about a person and the tape gets passed around all of these people. A boy gets to his turn and panicks. They had once shared a kiss and they liked each other sort of. Most of the reasons are very bad indeed but, his is different to all the others.

The Fault in Our Stars - Brought tears to my eyes. The relationship between Augusters Waters and Hazel Grace, yet with a twist, they both suffer/ed from cancer. They share a love for a book and take a trip to meet the author but he isn't nice. They fall in love until...well read it to find out!

MockingJay - The third book of THG series in which Katniss must recruit a team to fight the Capitol and along the way lose a few people unfortunately. They rebel against the Capitol after the games were interrupted...

The death and life of Charlie St. Cloud - A guy who has a brother but the brother dies in a crash and takes it upon himself to care for his brother. He never reaches out of his comfort zone so he can play with his ghost brother every night. Until he meets a girl and falls in love with her.

Beauty&Skincare Favourites of 2014

Seen as 2014 is coming to end, what better to do than round up all of my favourites in 2014! Today's part is my beauty and skincare favourites. This might be my last part to this series but I'm not sure!

Beauty:
Maybelline 24 hr colour tattoos (On and On Bronze and Pink Gold) - such beautiful formulations and the packagining is so luxury and beautiful! Last for so long and can count as being waterproof too (I should know). The shade range is amazing and definitely an ALL TIME favourite!

Rimmel Apocalips AND Provacalips - the Apocalips are so beautiful, their packaging is honestly amazing! I can't remember what shade I have but its a dark berry red and is divine! *inserts heart face emoji* I love these products! Provacalips are the sisters of the Apocalips and these are pretty darn good aswell! Although the shade range isn't amazing, they last for so long on the lips (maybe too long?) and are lovely!

Barry M Nail Paints - Whenever I get the chance to paint my nails, I got for my Barry M's everytime! They have such a wide range of colours and styles etc... And they are quick drying! The Gelly hi-shine ones amazed me a few weeks back when they lasted through 3 swimming sessions! CRAZYYYY!

Sleek Face Form Kit in Light - First time contouring this year and wow. I love it so much! This kit makes me look defined and my face look very flattering, it also includes my fave (sleek blushes omg) so bonus!

Topshop Lips - This year I have been loving these lipsticks! Topshop have done good! They are super creamy and moisturising on the lips and have an excellent shade variety! LOVE!

Skincare:
Garnier Micellar Water - This is my holy grail cleanser! It wipes away all my makeup instantly and doesn't damage my skin or make me breakout! It is very easy to use and I love it so much. It's quite cheap aswell and lasts a long time so give it a try!

Body Shop Aloe Moisturisers and Vitiman E Moisturiser - These have saved my skin! No words can describe how much they have helped me and ohh. They are just perfect for dry skin! Or normal to combination skin like mine! Very helpful Indeed!

Thanks for reading I love you all! Still can't believe 2k views on this blog wow! Bye x

Christmas Nails!

Just a quick post for you on Christmas Eve! I'm writing this whilst watching the Grinch (best Christmas film EVER), so mind any errors.

PRODUCTS USED: Astor Fashion Studio Polish in the shade 'Chicissime'
Barry M Nail Polish in the shade 'Starlight'

I used the Astor red to paint all my nails because I associate it with Christmas (who doesn't?) and then on my index finger I used the sparkly Barry M colour to make it more festive!

Why do we choose to wear makeup?

It recently occurred to me whilst talking to someone that people don't actually know WHY they wear makeup upon their faces.

1. To impress friends or boys. Yes admit it, you've worn makeup at least once to try and impress someone. If your a girl you want people to see the better side of yourself so you doll yourself up. There is nothing wrong with this. As long as you feel comfortable and aren't going totally overboard with the eyebrows/blush (you know what I mean no clowns aloud). It's normal for a girl want to look nice for someone special!

2. Confidence. If people lack in self esteem or confidence, they wear makeup to make them feel confident. It's one less thing to worry about (your appearance) so they wear it. It is known and common to wear makeup and instantly boost your confidence by 100%! It makes you feel like a new and improved you.

3. To cover up. Yes we all go through troublesome times with spots, blemishes and under eye circles. Of course all us girls would want to cover them up with either a bit of concealer or large amounts of foundation but the truth is people are comfortable in their own skin and feel the need to layer up. In my eyes no one particularly needs makeup but it's a good thing for you if you don't feel confident or if you just like the idea of being sophisticated and made up!

4. Because it's fun! Make up isn't all about covering up, that's why we have lipsticks, mascara, eyeliner and eyeshadow. Some people find being artistic with your lips or eyes is genuinely fun and amusing. It really is for people who enjoy and collect makeup. Whether it's deciding on your kind of eyeliner, or what colour eyeshadow shall you wear or what lippy to go for, it's all fun to beauty enthusiastics!

What's your reason? Love charl xxxxx

The shoes...

This are my newest pair of shoes and oh my good god I'm so in love. Honestly they're beautiful! They are a black, soft kind of material with cut outs at the top and heel. Ladies if you dare to go bare foot, please paint the toenails before hand? Ok good! They are slightly heeled but heeled as in a wedge and are almost platform shoes with the 'heel' at the front as well. To put them on securely, the fashion designers from new look added a gold detail onto the shoe, A ZIP. Don't you just love the word zip? This pair is particularly comfortable and I love them too much! <3333 £19.99 from New Look.

Shopping HAUL

This is my first 'beauty' haul I've actually written about I think so hope you enjoy.
During the week I bought a few things. I saw the NEW Baby Lips Dr Rescue and immediately wanted it to be mine. So I picked that up and so far I'm loving it. Then I bought another 24hr Colour Tattoo from Maybelline this time in the shade 'Pink Gold'. I adore this and the formula is absolutely fab! Next I picked up the Rimmel London Lasting Finish foundation on Velvetgh0st's recommendation.

I then went with my friend and decided to pick up a lip liner. this is the Rimmel Moisture Renew liner (the white invisible liner). I have yet to try this out. Lastly in boots I needed a few skincare items. After all the hype around the Garnier Micellar Cleansing Water, I decided to buy it and it is honestly amazing! I also bought the Simple Moisturising Facial Wash which is really good for your skin too!

I also bought these fashion pieces from New Look. They are for a party I'm attending next week! The dress is black with striped indents in and has a high neck. It is a bodycon style dress. The necklace is a long, gold chain with a diamond on it! My boots should be here on Monday!

How does one venture in Boots and not by nail polish?! These are my 'winter' polishes. The first one is a lovely metallic purple from Barry M's silk collection and is called Orchid! The next is a very festive sparkly effect polish with stars and dots mixed together, in the shade Starlight! The next one (the first I picked) is a Gelly hi-shine in the shade Plum.

hope you enjoyed this post love you all x

The holidays are coming..

Did you sing that song in your head too? Just me? IM SO SO SO SO EXCITED FOR CHRISTMAS OMG IT IS ALMOST UPON US! I love the cosy nights with blankets and hot chocolate all snuggled up! I love the soundtracks and e music at this time of year. Not to mention all the end of year parties we can go to during December! As it is the last month of 2014, make it your best one. End on the best possible way. Christmas is so exciting so that's what makes the twelfth month so great! Don't forget the amazing food, films (who doesn't love a bit of Frozen, Elf or Home Alone?) and the beautiful decor around the towns, cities and countries. Ahhhh I do love me some Christmas.

What is your fave thing about this festive holiday season?

November Favourites

This month I have been loving quite a few things! November is actually one of my favourite months because I get so excited for bonfire night, Christmas, lots of swimming things and shopping! So, as per usual One Direction released there fourth album in November called FOUR. Words cannot describe how much I love them and this album. The overall tone of their album is beautiful and so unique and different to what they normally do.

Next I have my fluffy socks. As it is getting colder, I have been wanting to get warmer so I had an actual reason to wear fluffy socks - although, I wear them all year round! These ones in the photograph are from PRIMARK last year. I admit, I own 10 pairs of these socks and still want more..

Next I have been loving the Sleek Face Form Palette in 'Light'. I love this as I'm getting more into contouring and highlighting plus, I have always been a sleek blush fan! They are super pigmented and last quite a long time. They are all very blend able and I love this palette way too much!

Last but not least, I have Zoe's (www.zoella.co.uk) new book!!!! Girl Online has me hooked. I got this the day after it came out and couldn't stop staring at it! It's cover is gorgeous and I have made loads of people jealous by the fact that I own it ;) But seriously Zoe writes amazingly throughout the entire book and the plot is fab! Full review we I have finished it!

Create your own outfit #2 | Teen Blogs Unite

Welcome to my next teen blogs unite post! I have done this one before but this time I put a little more effort into it. Below the first picture is probably my ideal autumn/winter outfit. A jumper from h&m with a black leather-look skirt. Tights because it's going to be very cold! Also I added these really cute wedged boots which I'm totally smitten for! The lipstick I added was the one and only MAC 'Velvet Teddy'.
The next one is my favourite of them all. I got inspiration for the MissGuided website and then totally fell in love with it. I have a checked shirt (any colour but preferably red/blue/mustard/green) and over the top of that a black leather-look pinafore dress. I definitely prefer the skater skirt style pinafores and this one was the only one I could find. To finish the outfit off I have some slight heeled Chelsea boots and a dark berry MAC lip.
My last one for the night. As Christmas and the New Year is creeping upon us gradually, more parties are goings on! My outfit chosen is very very black! On Wednesdays we wear black! I just have a black blazer, black Joni jeans, a black mesh cut-out crop top and some flat Chelsea boots! To finish off the look I added a darkish red lipstick from NARS and a silver necklace with a heart on!

Thankyou for reading! I'm feeling very Christmassy at the moment so expect Christmas posts....

Vanilla Cupcakes | Sweet Saturday

For my next post in the Teen Blogs Unite series, I am going to share with you a recipe for the simple but tasty vanilla cupcakes! unfortunately I couldn't bake them myself but, I wanted to show you this recipe. (I don't own this image - doesn't belong to me)

Ingredients

For the buttercream icing
  • 140g/5oz butter, softened

  • 280g/10oz icing sugar

  • 1-2 tbsp milk

  • a few drops food colouring

    Preparation method

    1. Preheat the oven to 180C/350F/Gas 4 and line a 12-hole muffin tin with paper cases.

    2. Cream the butter and sugar together in a bowl until pale. Beat in the eggs a little at a time and stir in the vanilla extract.

    3. Fold in the flour using a large metal spoon, adding a little milk until the mixture is of a dropping consistency. Spoon the mixture into the paper cases until they are half full.

  • Bake in the oven for 10-15 minutes, or until golden-brown on top and a skewer inserted into one of the cakes comes out clean. Set aside to cool for 10 minutes, then remove from the tin and cool on a wire rack.

  • For the buttercream icing, beat the butter in a large bowl until soft. Add half the icing sugar and beat until smooth.

  • Then add the remaining icing sugar with one tablespoon of the milk, adding more milk if necessary, until the mixture is smooth and creamy.

  • Add the food colouring and mix until well combined.

  • Spoon the icing into a piping bag with a star nozzle and pipe the icing using a spiralling motion onto the cup cakes in a large swirl.

The buttercream icing is obviously optional and so is adding food colouring. This is a sweet luxury on those days when you want something that isn't full of vitamins or nutrients! When you want something to taste and feel happiness when eating! Enjoy!x

Autumn is my favourite season...

Cosy nights watchng tv. Cold mornings warmed up by a delicious mug of hot chocolate. Crunchy, marmalade coloured leaves by your feet. The sound of pouring rain. The long desired lush bath. Closer and closer to Christmas.

Autumn. How I do love you. Although you are my busiest month, I love everything you have to offer. Especially the fashion. Parka coats, fluffy jumpers, leggings, all things comfy, tartan prints, scarfs, hats everything! The beauty at this time of year is my favourite. At last I can whip out the dark berry colours and go out in them without looking like a goth of some sort. Heavier eye makeup (all time personal fave). Also not to mention all my candles! The heavenly Yankee candle smells loaming through the air...ahhhhhhh. Can't do this blogpost without mentioning Halloween and all the Halloweentown films! Who can relate?!

What's your favourite thing about Autumn?

Brand Focus: Rimmel London | #TeenBlogsUnite

I'm quite liking Rimmel at the moment. Most of their products have been perfect, in the brand focus I'm going to show you all my products I own and do a little mini review!

Rimmel London Wake Me Up Foundation
Ok so I love the texture and smell of this foundation. Usually I'm looking for a bit more coverage than this but this is fine for spring/summer time. Unfortunately I really don't like the fact it has sparkles in. Loads of people comment on how my face is 'sparkly' and it makes me really self-conscious. So overall, I don't think I'll be repurchasing this foundation.
Rimmel London Stay Matte Pressed Powder
Ah, the hyped up product of 2014/2013. I however, am not a big fan of this. It claims to be long lasting but my makeup seems to slide right off my face after 2 or 3 hours which isn't good at all. I also think that this product made me breakout. I have sort of a love hate relationship with this but it is mostly hate.
Rimmel London Clear Complexion Pressed Powder
On the other hand, this powder is amazing! It doesn't claim to be long lasting but it really is! It is also full of minerals which helps you skin. The title 'clear complexion' draws me in straightaway with this product! Love it!
Rimmel London Apocalips Lip Lacquer
This is my holy grail lip product! It acts like a lip stain and stays on all day long! I picked up a dark berry shade because I felt daring and totally fell in love with this product! Loveeeee it.
Rimmel London Scandal Eyes Liquid Liner
This is my first liquid eyeliner and it is lasting quite well. It claims it is waterproof and it definitely is! I'm obsessed with this eyeliner and plus it is quick and easy (ish) to use!
Rimmel I ❤️ Lasting Finish Nail Varnish
I've had these a while and I do very much love the shades, although they aren't very long lasting. I honestly prefer Barry m but, I could live with these! :)

Hope you enjoyed my 3rd post to the #Teenblogsunite series. Please remember it isn't too late to get involved and the girls running it are lovely and give you all the information you need!

September Favourites

September has flown by so fast. I can't describe how fast it has gone because of how quick it went by. September has been full of birthdays. Seems like everyone was born in Spetember, am I right?! Anyway, I've loved a lot of things this month so let's get started!
Let's start beauty. Back to school makeup has been my priory lately and I don't like caking my face in makeup for school so I generally go for a subtle look. I have been enjoying wearing eyeliner though. In particular, my Rimmel London Scandal Eyes liquid liner. I love this because it is so easy to apply and I didn't even know that I picked up a waterproof one! Bonus! It lasts all day long and I love it to bits. My other favourite is an oldie for me. My first beauty product. Obviously this is the repurchased version. The Collection Longer Lash waterproof mascara is my saviour! Although the brush is simple, it adds so much volume to my lashes whereas my Maybelline one is practically dried out so I stick a bit of this on instead! I'm so glad I found this again.
Next is skincare. My ears have been pretty dry lately so moisturising is key. The Body Shops aloe soothing day and night creams are fabulous! My ears are getting so much better and so is my complexion. I've got into a routine so now I'm treating my skin properly and my skin is practically clear now.
Our school has introduced a new programme for year 9's called '10 before year 10'. This means we have to read ten books by year 10. My first book I chose is 'The Death and Life of Charlie St. Cloud'. I'm so in love with this. If you love TFIOS or Wonder, you'll love this! Brought a couple of tears to my eyes already!
Music is my life. Can go a day without listening to it. Ariana Grande's new album has been on repeat since it came out. Nothing much to say other than how FREAKING amazing it is! I'm obsessed and you should be too.
Onto food...I love food. A lot. Recently my mum bought these toffee penguin biscuits and oh my god. These are heaven and I can't get enough of them! They taste a dream and make me feel like a young kid again!

Thankyou for reading this post hope you enjoyed! Bye x

Create your own outfit | Teen Blogs Unite

Recently, Zoella beauty was launched! I'd just like to congratulate Zoe, her hard work finally paid off. Now if I was invited to this event, I would dress elegantly and look sophisticated! Wouldn't you? So what I'm thinking is, a beautiful, deep blue dress and some diva heels. To finish it off, a few pieces of gold jewellery! Oh and not to mention a cheeky deep berry lip from YSL! Here are my thoughts:
Hope you enjoyed my second post with the #TeenBlogsUnite series! Sorry if this goes up later than expected and thankyou guys so much for 1,000+ page views, it means a lot.

Bye!

Why is LUSH so raved about?

Lush is any girls favourite shop to go in. The scents are so overwhelming and powerful but, they are so lovely for each individual products. I have my favourites but I also have my wants. I love twilight - the scent makes me feel warm&happy and the pink and blue bath bomb itself makes it even better! I wish I went shopping in time to buy the unicorn horn from the Valentine's collection because that was beautiful!

Lush is so popular because it has something for everyone: colourful, exciting bath bombs
Simple&scent bath bombs
Bubble bars
Skincare
Makeup
And more!
It is also super cheap! Why do you think it is so raved about? XOXO gossip girl ;) joking! charlotte x

Soap&Glory Kick Ass Concealer

Ever since Gabby (velvetgh0st) raved about this, I wanted it. Soap and Glory have been the one brand that has been recently impressing everyone. I am impressed myself but I couldn't call this my holy grail concealer- which I am still on the look out for.
Once you open the product up you find a white powder with a sponge. I haven't properly tried this out but, I don't think I'll be using this in the future. It is too white and makes me look cakes and like a ghost.
The bottom of this is a compact mirror with two shades of concealer. The one on the left is a salmon shade which is used to counteract dark circles. Personally, my under eye circles are so bad. I can't get rid of them. No concealer or foundation has covered them up. Neither has this one.
On the other side is a normal shade to cover up any blemishes, redness or scars. I absolutely adore this side! it's very build able and isn't orange or cakey looking at all!

One thing I would like to change about this, is the price. £10 isn't a fortune to pay but compared to the lasting perfection concealer, it's pretty pricey.

3 Things I can't live without | #TeenBloggersUnite

These things are pretty basic but I have some reasons behind them. This blogpost is for the new series Teen Blogs Unite! I'm super excited to be part of this and the two girls hosting this are so lovely! Hope you enjoy the first blogpost of #TeenBlogsUnite

My first item has to be a beauty product right? After all, I am a beauty blogger! Mascara is life. It makes your eyes look bigger and more awake and compliments your face beautifully. Although it doesn't cover up blemishes, hide those dreaded dark-circles or frame your face, it is a must have on those days which you feel drained but don't want to go out looking like a rat being dragged through a bush backwards!
I then have some body mist. I'm a sucker for anything that smells. Perfumes, body sprays, deodorants everything! Victorias Sercret has been my favourite place to get some scents from! They make you smell absolutely gorgeous and stay on for quite a while! I also need to admit that I love the packaging a lot. Be sure to tune in on Fridays for my new series 'Fragrance Fridays'!
Last but not least, my phone/ipad. I love this because I can text people, snapchat, watch videos, instagram, blog, read blogs and listen to music. Music is one of my favourite things ever! It's so fun and makes me chill out. Ariana Grande, 5SOS, one direction are my favourite artists. But like many other people I like listening to other songs such as: All about that bass, Overdrive, Maps, Shake it off etc.. (ps I'm obsessed with nina nesbitt too shhhh..)

Thankyou for reading! Hope you enjoyed! Remember, it's not too late to join in #TeenBlogsUnite. Just search the hashtag on twitter to find out more info.
Love yas bye!<3

School Bag Essentials | Back To School

I recently started year 9 and most of you reading this will have begun school already! You may be in primary school, secondary school, sixth form, college or even university?! It's weird to think that in 2 years time I'll be getting ready for my GCSE's. How strange. Yet I'm only thirteen!

So I thought I'd do another back to school post about my school bag. What's in my school bag? School bag essentials!
Let's get started shall we?
Our school provides us with books for each classes so I don't need a note book. They also give us planners with our timetables in and we write everything in there from homeworkers to exam dates.
I also take my Jack Wills pencil case with me full of pencils, pens, sharpeners and rubbers! I then have a long ruler and a calculator. These things are required for school and they are the boring stuff.

I also take round with me a body spray. In this case, it is my hollister spray in 'Solana Beach'. It smells heavenly fruity! I like to carry hand sanitizer with me because, ew! How many germs are there in school? Especially in winter! I am in love with the body shop's hand sanitizers. My last two things I take are lip products. I take an EOS lip balm and a baby lips just in case!

I usually take my lunch box and a drink with me aswell, although I don't eat very healthily at school as people are known to be bullied if they don't bring something unhealthy and trust me, people at my school are super judgemental...

Hope you enjoyed this post, bye x

Topshop Lipsticks // Small Collection

So you may know that I have an obsession with topshop lipsticks. I must admit they are the best lip products I've tried! The pigmentation quality is gorgeous! The application is smooth and easy and the packaging is super pretty and photogenic!
I only have three shades but I will build on my collection ASAP!!!

I have a kiko lipstick which is a similar colour to this but this one is more of an orangey red. This is a creamy finish lipstick so the application is super simple and easy! The colour is definite talk 'me' colour and I love this so much! This is my favourite shade I own. This shade is 'ditsy'.

Next I have this beautiful colour in, brighton rock. This one is a matte finish but still applies great and finishes as a matte look. This colour is a super bright pink and is great on darker skintones! I'm normally not brave with colours and go for nudes but I'm not afraid to wear this bad boy out!! Definitely recommend this!
This was my very first topshop lippy and I've used it so so so much! I prefer wearing this colour on my paler skin as it suits it so much better! This is in the shade 'pillow talk'. It is a lovely light pink and is super pigmented! I love love love this lots!

Thank you so much topshop for this creation! My holy grail lippy!
